This made my essays to wander off topic and be difficult to follow. However, all these changed when my teacher taught me the importance of paragraph organizations and transitions. I learned to state the main idea in the beginning of the paragraph and then support it with strong and detailed evidence for the remaining of the paragraph. This way the reader can engage with the topic and avoid their confusion. In addition, a correct transition during my essays helped my writing to flow smoothly and show how my ideas related to each other. This would create complicated sentence structures that would make my essays hard to read and understand. Also, in the beginning of the semester, my writing lacked creativity. Knowing my weaknesses gives me the opportunity to work on them until they become strengths. For example, as I mentioned before, organization is presently my biggest strength. However, at the beginning of the course, it wasn’t. I had to practice and work on it until it became natural and fluent. Therefore, even thought my current weakness is being too wordy, its just a matter of practice and hard work to overcome it. Presently, many students born on English speaking countries underestimate the importance of the English language. They believe knowing everyday words will be sufficient enough to succeed.
